Just before Christmas we took everyone down to see A Day in the Life of an Elf on Macy’s 8th floor in downtown Minneapolis. This animated display is similar to a ginormous window display in NYC and captures the story of how the elves prepare for the holiday season. The girls enjoyed seeing the elves’ bunk room, their kitchen full of sweet baked goods and candies, a school, the toy workshop, Santa’s mailroom, the animals & the caroling Christmas trees that live among them at the north pole. We toured the exhibit twice with so much to see and during the second spin Maia looked for her letter in Santa’s mailroom and told me she wanted to live there. A very fun morning.
Yesterday Maia wrapped up the year with a fun winter party in her classroom. They played games like find the nose on Frosty, shared yummy treats, made a handmade snowman ornament out of sandpaper sheets rubbed with cinnamon sticks and made a rice-filled sock snowman decoration. Lots of fun.
Just in the last few days Willa’s fourth tooth has emerged on her top row. It a pretty cute incisor! She’s becoming more proficient at feeding herself and almost prefers to only do that when eating. It’s getting trickier to get those spoonfuls of green veggies and goodness in while she’s working hard to feed herself.
Last weekend we had a visit from Uncle Jack, Uncle John and Grammy from Florida. The girls had a good time playing with them and celebrating an early Christmas with cookies, Christmas carols and many fun gifts. Thanks for taking the time out to visit MN. Sorry we couldn’t deliver on more snow!
