The three of us went to our first summer Music Together class today. The girls had a great time especially Maia. She doesn’t remember the five or six consecutive Music Together classes we took when she was 9 months old to 2+ years. One of our neighbors is also in the class which hopefully won’t make for too many puppies-barking-at-each-other moments when the girls get keyed up. Josie enjoyed the time too although not the moment I took this picture. I hope to enroll her in a class of her own this fall, but for now it’s the three of us.

Outside Exploration
Today we visited the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum with more than 1,000 acres of gardens, model landscapes and natural areas. Visitors can tour the area on 12.5 miles of garden paths and hiking trails throughout the entire year. We saw beautiful gardens, enchanted forests, open prairies, wetlands, waterfalls, baby frogs, two turtles, geese, iris ponds, sea monsters, the kids wandered through a hedge maze and we picnicked in a sunny grassy place. It was 65 degrees too! Not bad for a Monday.

Personal Space
This is starting to happen more often in our house. You’ll see Maia with her arms around Josie trying to move her here or there. She’s quickly learning you can’t move babies by their heads or necks which is a good thing. Josie is also sounding off more to let Maia know she’s not liking whatever it is she’s doing. We hear her especially when Maia is sitting too close or up in her face. Josie doesn’t have a huge cry, but it’s enough to know she wants to be left alone.
Charming Dog Walkers
Someone left this charming little note in our mailbox one day this week. There isn’t a name, but we’re guessing it is someone small, delightful and girly. Woof.
